A$AP Rocky and Skrillex Drop Bass All Over The DR

Rising rapper A$AP Rocky includes dubstep maestro Skrillex on a wild trip to the Dominican Republic for his new video.

The opening caption says everything viewers need to know about what they’re about to watch:

Directed by Chris Robinson and A$AP Rocky himself, the video for "Wild For the Night" kicks off with the fast-rising rapper quizzing a youngster on the sheer dominance of his crew—the A$AP Mob. As soon as the Harlem native is satisfied with his friend’s answers, the video properly begins.

Rocky and the rest of his crew—which for today includes dubstep deity Skrillex—are intermittently glimpsed riding scooters and enjoying the fruits of the region, when they’re not dancing on rooftops. Since he isn’t near his instruments, the producer just kinda stands around doing high kicks, looking psyched but underutilized. That is, until the last minute of the video, when Skrillex looks at home behind the decks at a huge party.

Bonus: This extended clip includes one of Skrillex’s bass drops not heard on the album version of the song. If you’re into that sort of thing. Watch another video from A$AP Rocky’s debut album below.

I am a fan of Skrillex, but I gotta be honest...I'm not really feelin' this song. Doesn't seem like he would be the type to do this song. I still might put it on my website though.

I created a website dedicated to my obsession of dubstep and, of course, Skrillex is a popular artist on it. Check it out and let me know what you think. I Love Dubstep website -

The video looks great, the images are powerful, awesome shots. I'm a fan of Skrillex since last year, didn't heard Asap songs before. But, as a dominican (born and raised) I have to say that I hate the fact that Asap is sending the message of "I run the show", "I'm the mob leader" while waving my country's flag. Due to the strong images ant the start of the video, I was hoping (naive of me) kind of a social critique.

I found out that Skrillex was in DR thanks to a tweet of him with a child. Didn't knew until yesterday when I saw the video, what he was doing in my country.

I'm aware of my country's reality, but I don't approve the way they uses it.
Anyway, just my humble opinion as a dominican that feels for my country.

Don't want to be "that" guy but the end song is by Kill Paris - Slap Me (candyland remix). Overall nice article though, glad to see Fast Co. writing about music vids.
